The majority of our clients serve high-end markets. We are well aware that such clients require marketing materials that reflect the quality of their products and we know too that our reputation is based on the superb quality of ours.
With the advent of computer-to-plate print technology many print producers now leave out the color separator (the service that previously made the films used to expose the printer's plates). We consider the color separator to still be an essential supplier in our production process: the highest quality print can only come from files that have undergone the finest possible color tuning and only the best color separators can provide this service. We use a color separator whose main clients comprise some of Italy's most famous fashion designers, magazines and manufacturers of luxury goods - all clients who insist on the most exacting standards. All our color work passes through this stage for color balancing and production of proofs before going to the printer.
Our printers are also chosen not just on the basis of price, but above all on the quality of their work, their ability to meet deadlines and their flexibility in responding to unusual requests and the all-important aspect of logistics in preparation for distribution.
We can also provide limited runs of posters for trade fair or external use. Our supplier can print unlimited lengths up to 3 meters (approx. 9 ft) in width on a variety of supports such as laminated paper, plastic and canvas for front or back-lighting. Larger widths can be created with a seam.
Unless you already have a fixed idea of your needs, we start with a dialogue to identify your main requirements. Our approach is informal; phone calls, e-mails, meetings during a photoshoot or in the quiet moments of a trade fair usually suffice. Choosing Turnkey partner, Jason Horncastle, to do your photography carries an added bonus; after a full immersion in your business he comes away with fuller knowledge of your product.
Gaining as much insight into your business as possible gives us the foundations on which our services to you can be built. Together we will answer some basic questions:
This will enable us to formulate a proposal that encompasses the image and message you need to convey as well as quantities, sizes and specifications. Our proposal will come together with a price for the complete package. So that, once we have agreed, you will know exactly how much it's all going to cost.
Turnkey partner, Jason Horncastle, is our in-house phographer. Since he is also our art director, having him do your photography means you get two roles for the price of one; unlike a freelance photographer working on his own, Jason can tailor the images he takes to the graphic image he already envisages making.
Nowadays, Jason uses almost exclusively the 35mm digital format, although he carries a 35mm film camera as back-up and can still offer medium format film photgraphy if a client requires it. He has long experience of undertaking photoshoots in remote locations and in adverse conditions. He carries lightweight portable flash systems for excellent interior lighting and an Apple
laptop with extra external hard disk for on-site downloads and maximum data security.
Turnkey can also produce 360° virtual tour photography for use on websites or distribution on CD-Rom. We use the Quick Time
compatible, IPix
system.
Fifteen years experience with Turnkey plus backgrounds in yachting and journalism make us suitable for most general copywriting. We also have contacts with other professional copywriters for projects that require more specialised skills. Some clients may prefer to write their own copy, especially in the case of highly technical subjects. We can edit such texts if necessary.
Many clients, especially in the tourism industry, require brochures in more than one language. Putting more than one language in the same brochure is generally not a good idea since it reduces the space available and impairs on the message delivered. Producing different language editions by using a plate change during the print run is a cost-effective solution.
We maintain a network of freelance, mother-tongue translators for the most commonly requested languages. We encourage them to copywrite in their own language rather than to make literal translations so that the copy appeals to their own national market.
With Turnkey, every job is custom made for a specific client. We do not use templates or regurgitate failed projects for other clients. We have proven creative ability in producing everything from sophisticated graphics for more conservative high-end companies to a futuristic, attention-grabbing image for firms such as power boat manufacturers.
When we submit a graphic proposal to a client we very often get it pretty much right first time round. However, if we don't, we will go on redesigning and making changes as long as necessary to make the client completely satisfied - all as part of our intital fixed price.
Our creativity is not limited to brochure layouts: we design ads, posters and web sites, make stunning maps, deck plans and illustrations. We welcome a new challenge, so if you need something unusual please feel free to ask our advice.
We have long experience in organizing complicated distribution schedules. Many of our clients require their marketing material to be distributed to different agents, distributors or trade fairs around the world.
Brochures can be shipped on pallets, boxed or with indidual shrink-wrapping. It is advisable for shipments to be insured for the reprint cost in case of damage in transit.
We can organize multiple shipments by air or sea as well as advance shipments by courier to meet clients' immediate needs. If provided with a client's mailing list we can also provide a world-wide mailing service.
